Our Industry
Private equity ("PE") is defined as the provision of equity capital by investors to companies that demonstrate the potential for growth in value. The capital is typically invested from closed-end funds managed by investment advisory companies. CVC is focussed on the large buyout sector of the private equity market. Our funds acquire controlling interests in companies with an average enterprise value of €1 billion or more.

UK Guidelines for Disclosure and Transparency in Private Equity
The CVC group consists of CVC Capital Partners SICAV-FIS S.A. and its subsidiaries and affiliates. CVC Capital Partners Limited (“CVC UK”) is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority and acts as an investment adviser within the CVC group.
As a member of the BVCA CVC UK endorses and will comply with the recommendations in the Walker Guidelines of Disclosure and Transparency in Private Equity in the United Kingdom published in November 2007 on the “comply or explain” basis set out therein. Much of this we already undertake in our dealings and communications with stakeholders in our business and the wider community, and we will continue to use this web site as a means of conforming to the disclosure guidelines for a Private Equity firm.
In addition, we will promote conformity with the Walker Guidelines amongst those investments in the UK which meet the Walker definitions of a Portfolio Company and in which CVC funds have a controlling interest.
The only UK investment held by CVC funds which currently falls within the Walker definitions of a Portfolio Company is Acromas (the holding company for the Saga/AA group), which is described further in the section of this web site entitled “Our Companies”.
